Purpose:

To bring leaders, who are passionate about marriages and mental health community, together for building, forming and nurturing towards the strategic approach, dreams and mission to bring hope, resources and support to marriages with mental health & addiction challenges.

Objectives:

  • To bring the marriage and mental health leaders together by working together so that it is a united effort.

  • This is a HUGE DREAM & ENDEAVOR that we cannot do alone; it will take a village to accomplish this.

  • To support the strategic approach to use the conference as the catalyst, then encourage individuals/couples to get connected with a peer-support group and then work towards giving back with their significant purpose with retreats (future).

Values:

  • Bring hope, resources & support for marriages with mental health or addiction challenges.

  • Partner and work together with existing organizations, peer-led support groups and professionals to provide a diverse amount of resources and support so that it is a united effort; we are not in competition with one another and need each other.

  • Support marriages as the primary audience; however couples not married are fully welcomed, supported and treated as a part of this community.

  • Honor any individual or couple impacted by mental health or addiction challenges regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, or relationship status (e.g. dating, engaged, married, separated or divorced).

  • Support one another through the marital journey — whether in crisis, surviving, growing or thriving as well as a relapse.

  • Provide wholistic resources across medical, emotional, trauma, and spiritual treatment plans.

  • Provide a safe place for support with no judgement where people feel accepted as both an individual and a couple.

  • Offer support that is affordable as this is a non-profit with leveraging volunteer time as much as possible.

  • Ensure that the story shared dignifies the individuals involved, confidentiality is honored (if requested), and the story is approved to share.

  • Share the victories to de-stigmatize the relationship and support healthy decision-making to ensure safety and well-being.
